Tampa Bay Rays’ Tropicana Field Expands Its Amenities With BEAM, a Virtual Playground
ST. PETERSBURG, FL. – The Tampa Bay Rays’ home field, Tropicana Field, now has a new place for kids to play with the addition of a virtual playground. BEAM, a motion-sensitive projection gaming system, joins Tropicana Field’s list of family-friendly amenities along with the Rays Touch Tank and Ted Williams Museum.
BEAM, installed in Tropicana field earlier this month, projects dozens of different games onto the floor. From stomping monsters to popping balloons, the motion-sensitive system encourages kids to play with their whole body, fostering healthy, active play. Designed for up to 15 players ages two and up, the system also encourages interaction. Since the only thing kids touch is the floor, BEAM offers a safe, germ-free way to play.
“Kids love BEAM because it’s like playing on a giant tablet, but parents love it because, unlike other video games, kids are active and interacting with others. BEAM makes a great addition to Tropicana Field as a way for kids to stretch in between innings or burn energy before the game,” said EyeClick CEO Ariel Almos.
